We were rather inspired by Rory Milne’s Emulation Nation feature this month, so we decided to take some time to talk about our own experiences with emulation. So lets cover everything, from the free projects that most people think of, to the commercially released official compilations and numerous mini consoles.

How did you first find out about emulation? For me, it was a newspaper article about MAME.

I first thought it was about huge flightless birds…

MAME was my first experience as well. It was introduced to me by my brother of all people, who showed me Double Dragon running on his PC. Or did I show it to Matt on my PC? Christ, I can’t remember. We definitely played Double Dragon first though.
