The whole world seemed to be going crazy for online connectivity at the turn of the millennium, and Nintendo wasn’t going to allow its enormously popular handheld consoles to be left behind. The Mobile Adapter GB allows for various models of Japanese mobile phones to connect to the link cable ports of compatible Game Boy models, with a bundled cartridge called Mobile Trainer used to configure the connection. Compatible games could then use the phone to access online multiplayer modes, leaderboards, downloadable content and more.
