Old age, young love
Our columnist and Miranda have recently discovered a new shared interest – singing hymns in the bath on Sunday mornings

Miranda and I often sit in the bath on Sunday morning singing along to hymns on Radio 4. Oh, how we both love it. Not together in the same bath. Do you mind? How rude. Don’t you know my age? I find it hard enough climbing in and out of the bath on my own. Don’t want any distractions.
I mean, when in our separate homes – me in London and Miranda 100 miles away across the Solent in the Isle of Wight – I ring her up, having got Sunday Worship on my bath-side radio, and she does the same. I can’t sing. In the bath, no one is listening, but in my head, I’m in tune.
