Q Myelderly parents have sold up and come to live near me and my husband, but now he's been offered his dream job at the other end of the country! He says that, as his wife, I should prioritise his happiness and career fulfilment, and that my parents can visit. Plus, they can afford to pay for any care they may need. Can't he see that I'd feel like I'm betraying them?

I don't buy all this prioritising your husband's happiness stuff but neither do I think that your parents should be the deciding factor. I doubt they have moved closer to you because they want you and your husband to be their unpaid carers. They have done it because they love you, but the important question here is whether or not you want to move to 'the other end of the country'.
