of superhero comics, event fatigue is a real problem.
Both Marvel and DC lean heavily on massively sprawling crossover sagas, and keeping up with these can often get exhausting (and expensive), especially given that the latest shocking plot twists will usually just get reset about a year later. As a result, it’s a pleasant surprise when an event comic comes along that feels focused and fun, and which also doesn’t outstay its welcome.
