The most prominent use of make-up in the film is Elphaba’s green skin. Did you use Margaret Hamilton or the stage make-up as a base, or create something completely new?
Because I was working with a totally different base skin tone, I couldn’t start with any of that as my starting point. I started my very first days just experimenting with different greens that were on the market, or taking different greens that were available and mixing them all, to see how it would react on a dark skin tone.
