And when playing online, make sure your internet connection is solid – unless you like losing.
■ Get set Think through your setup prior to starting a game. About to immerse yourself in an hours-long bout of thinky strategy? Plonk your tablet in a stand. Into fast-paced multitouch arcade fare? Play with your device flat on a table. Want to try a twitchy platformer or complex FPS? Use a controller rather than relying on your touchscreen.
