First came Sony’s revolutionary LinkBuds: in-ears with a hole in the middle. Now we get the even more revolutionary LinkBuds S: in-ears without a hole in the middle!

I t’s only been a few months since Sony launched the rather unique LinkBuds, earphones designed to let the world in rather than keep it out. They’re perfect for dealing with annoying co-workers while still being able to blast your eardrums with Lizzo, and we were impressed enough with them to break out the full five-star Stuff rating.
And now we get a £30 more expensive version, called the LinkBuds S. You might well expect from the ‘S’ that these are a slightly changed version of the original design, but in fact they’re completely different, and look far more like conventional earbuds. You’d never guess that the two sets of LinkBuds are supposed to be close siblings. Even the charging case has a totally new look.
