SWITCH HITTERS
Whether you’ve had one since launch or just bagged an OLED, these extras will switch things up for Nintendo’s hybrid console
SWITCH PRO CONTROLLER
For all the innovative tech of the Switch’s in-built Joy-Cons, not to mention the ability to carry your gaming on the go or turn the pair into two single gamepads, they are far from ideal. There’s no dedicated d-pad, they feel a bit too small, and those sticks are way too prone to drifting issues. So unless you only use your Switch as a handheld, a Pro Controller is really a must-have.
With sticks, buttons, bumpers and triggers of a more substantial size than those of the Joy-Cons, this wireless option shares a similar design to the Classic Pro Controllers that Nintendo released for its Wii and Wii U consoles (although the right analogue stick’s layout has more of an Xbox look). Nonetheless, the texturised grips make this controller immediately more comfortable in the hands.
