HELLBOY: THE RPG
BIG RED
Something spooky is happening and it’s time to investigate – but be careful, not everyone on your team is fireproof

Behind every giant red son of a duke of hell, is a small army of paranormal investigators and researchers who do most of the work, as the saying goes. Welcome to the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense – or the B.P.R.D. – things are going to get a little weird. We talk to Rob Burman and Marc Langworthy about the latest outing for Hellboy, or at least, his friends.
“We asked, what would it be like to be a member of the B.P.R.D.?” says Rob Burman, community manager at Mantic Games with a sordid past as an editor of this very magazine. After Hellboy: The Board Game achieved huge Kickstarter success, there was always a question of what would come next for the franchise on the tabletop, “looking at the lore, we realised that actually, Hellboy is steeped in all this myth and tradition, which is very much like an RPG. And we started thinking, wouldn’t it be amazing if we could use all the miniatures we’ve got, and the terrain crate scenery, for an RPG.”
