MONSTROCITY
Rampaging monsters, leashed
Designer: Constantine Kevorque| Publisher: Vesuvius Media
Ever since Godzilla showed off the power of its atomic breath on the streets of Tokyo, big monsters smashing through cities have become one of our favourite topics to explore in board games. If you have ever enjoyed rampaging through Meeple City and have become the King of Tokyo, your next stop for destruction and general mayhem could be MonstroCity.
Based on the mobile towerdefence game of the same name, MonstroCity the board game is visually an impressive entrance. Its board is a city block, where threedimensional towers with mounted turrets rise off the board, and monsters as large miniatures, stalk the streets. At the beginning of the game, an actual cityscape is created on the board, and positioning your monster figurine among the building blocks really helps to get into the spirit of smashing things. At the end of the game, if you are any good, the board will be free of buildings and will become completely flat.
