I visited my GP for what I believed was just raised blood pressure, but was met with a rather blunt warning: unless I took immediate action, I might not have long left to live,” explains Christopher Pandolfo, who at the time of his GP check was a 121kg pre-diabetic. “The GP wanted to put me on the list for gastric surgery, but it was something I absolutely refused to do. My mum had passed away, aged 33, from complications arising after a weightloss procedure of her own. She had lost some weight but never really addressed the reasons why she put the weight on, so I felt it wasn’t the route for me.”
Cheque mate: Christopher’s incredible weight loss earned him a cool $100,000
