Dear Gary

As I write this letter to you, my desperately ill, terribly unhappy larger self, I’m looking out of the window at a neat and tidy garden fringed with white stones. I laid every single one of those stones myself. I painted the fences that border the garden and I climbed the ladder to wash the lean-to roof.
