When I was a kid, I used to watch Tomorrow’s World – partly because there were only four TV channels to choose from, but also because it offered a fascinating insight into the future. Not that it always got things right; I don’t know about you, but I’m still waiting for my robot secretary and am yet to switch to paper underwear.
