A date with destiny
Apply positive thinking to make 2023 a decisive year for your writing, says Adrian Magson

There’s never a better time for deciding whether a journey will be good, bad or indifferent than right at the start. Doing so too early, when one’s head is filled with planning, excitement, getting ready and all that that entails, can be too vague and leads to prevarication. Later on… well, you’re already on the way and should be focusing on the road, the satnav or map (remember those paper things?) and not making mistakes.
Just when you’re ready to depart, however, is when you can take a deep breath, have a cool look at your itinerary and decide that this trip will be one full of promise and adventure. You know where you’re going, you’ve got all the information you need and you’re armed with enthusiasm and the desire to succeed.
