People come in a vast array of different shapes, sizes and personalities but often, you find certain people with similar backgrounds wearing similar things or wearing similar pieces of jewellery. One defining feature of many people, however, is the hat that they wear. In this writing group exercise it’s time to revisit your childhood and grab a hat for a spot of dressing up.
For this workshop you’ll need a variety of different clean hats – for example, a baseball cap, a sun hat, a fascinator, a woollen bobble hat, a fedora, a bowler hat, a flat cap, and a beret. Place them in a box. Each group member then pulls a hat from the box and wears it. If they would rather not wear it, they can just place it on the table in front of them.
