Marion Chesney Gibbons has been writing romantic and mystery novels for just under forty years. She is a bit of a mystery herself: she writes many of her novels under an adaptation of her maiden name, which was McChesney but she has used at least another six pseudonyms: Ann Fairfax, Jennie Tremaine, Helen Crampton, Charlotte Ward, Sarah Chester, Marion Chesney, MC Beaton. It is under this last name that she is best known, for her popular mystery novels that feature her recurring protagonists Agatha Raisin and Hamish Macbeth.
