Fine styling
Get the appearance of your files finessed with Greta Powell’s advice on working with styles
This month sees us jump around a little as we bounce from working with Styles in Microsoft Word then look at retaining styles to InDesign. Styles really are quite straightforward to use but they can become messy when their formatting is either directly overwritten or when documents are shared with other contributors.
Another query I often find in the inbox is about the creation of graphics for the web. For those who don’t want to learn new software why not take a look at the Canva website? It is a absolute treasure trove of design that provides a great range of resources for creating social media images, web graphics such as banners and blog images.
QUICK TIP!
To quickly remove, reapply or create styles to text throughout a Word document, simply hold down the Control key then drag over the required text. For example, any headings you have in the document can be selected in one go and a new style can be applied to them all simultaneously.
