in brief
THYME OPCO, the Cyrus Capital-controlled company, confirmed on April 14 that it has completed the purchase of Flybe. The company will now be renamed Flybe Limited and plans to appeal against the Civil Aviation Authority’s decision to revoke the operating licence previously held by the airline’s former parent company, Flybe Group. It also stated that its distinctive purple planes could potentially be returning to the UK’s airports within the next few months: “Subject to further success with vaccinations and relaxation of travel restrictions, we plan to launch a new and much improved Flybe this summer on many of our former routes, where there remains a critical need for a strong, reliable and customer-focused airline.”
