The Lostwithiel Antique Fair was started by Lynne and Richard Bonehill (the late actor and sabre champion). The current organisers Anne and Nigel Allen will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the monthly fair on Sunday, October 13, in the town’s community centre.
Anne said: “On average we currently have 30 dealers per fair, some who have stood for 20 years. We have seen a lot of change in the past years. Younger faces are starting to appear, which is encouraging, and buyers’ tastes have also changed.
“There are always serious collectors for silver and high-end china and porcelain but more practical items like boxes are now popular. Jewellery is always an excellent seller as are mid-century items including glass and pottery.”
