SWR agrees temporary retention of 12 Class 707s
Operator says delayed Class 701 roll-out put pressure on existing fleet.
SOUTH Western Railway has agreed an extension of the lease until August this year, on 12 Class 707 electric multiple units, in order to maintain capacity.
The entire fleet of 30 units is due to move to Southeastern for ‘City Beam’ metro services, but it has agreed the temporary retention with SWR, which says the move will “alleviate future pressure”.
