BARTON House Railway, in Hartwell Road, Wroxham, was founded by Paul Bower, father of the current owner Peter. A circular 7¼in gauge track was completed in 1962, and officially opened on April 28, 1963, with the first public running that July.
The later ‘Midland Railway’ is a raised 3½in gauge oval, while the original ground-level line has been extended. Now known as the Riverside Railway, it takes visitors down to the River Bure.
