BRIGHTON Tram 53 Society says it has had a “very positive meeting” about the tram’s future with the owners of Stanmer House, set in Stanmer Park to the north of the city.
As reported in the January issue of The RM, the society, which is working on the restoration of 1937-built Brighton F-Class tram No. 53, is searching for somewhere for it to run once it has been returned to operation.
The Grade I listed Stanmer House has recently been transformed into a restaurant and events venue. Its owners are said by the society to realise the visitor potential of having trams running in the park and are keen to help.
