As we edge closer to spring, I find myself daydreaming about morning walks that no longer require five carefully chosen layers just to stay warm. That said, I’m far less confident that a change in season will bring any reduction in the number of post-walk towel-offs and impromptu baths for our four-legged companions. Mud, it seems, is a year-round predicament.
The end of winter is also a useful moment to pause and take stock. Those New Year’s resolutions made with the best of intentions may already need revisiting, while thoughts inevitably turn to longer days, lighter evenings and plans for the months ahead. Whether that means booking a first holiday of the year, entering an event, or simply promising yourself more time outdoors with your dog, this is the season when possibilities start to feel a little closer.
