What’s the threat?
Scammers are sending text messages claiming a “liaison officer” from Winter Living Welfare has tried and failed to get in touch with you. It says you need to “update your information” by a certain date in order to receive a payment, adding that “new applications will not be accepted after the expiration date”. Tapping the link in the text takes you to a fake Government site asking for your details.
