Use AI to generate titles in Google Photos
Google Photos has added an AI feature that suggests titles for your ‘memories’ in the app. This is useful when you can’t decide what to call a set of photos from a particular day, to make the memory easier to find and share.
To try the new AI tool, press the Memories tab at the bottom of the Google Photos app, then tap ‘Help me title’ next to a memory. Alternatively, tap ‘Add a title’ and press the glowing pencil icon ( 1 in our screenshot below left).
Select ‘See suggestions’ and Google Photos will use AI to analyse the content of the pictures and generate three appropriate titles 2 . Press your favourite suggestion to apply it to the memory, or tap the Edit button to change a word or two. You can also tap ‘Add hint’ to specify a detail to include in the title, or choose ‘More ideas’ 3 to generate a new set of suggestions.
Once you’ve tried the AI feature, Google Photos should automatically suggest titles below the ‘Add a title’ box of all your memories. If you can’t get the option to work, tap your profile icon in the top-right corner of the app and select ‘Google Photos settings’ then Preferences. Press ‘AI features by Labs’ and switch on the ‘Help me title’ setting.
