At £500, this 65in 4K QLED TV from TCL is a real bargain. The Chinese company is renowned for its high-quality budget smart TVs, but this takes it to a whole new level, providing incredible 4K image quality and – thanks to its Google TV interface – plenty of streaming services, including Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Netflix, Spotify and YouTube. Of course, a low price often means corners have been cut, but let’s first accentuate the positives.
First off, picture quality is outstanding. TCL is using a 60Hz 4K HVA LCD panel with full-array backlighting, amplified by QLED colour technology. Stream any 4K content, and the images look superb, while colours are well balanced, yet punchy. Skin tones look natural, and contrast is good, despite a fairly modest maximum brightness of 350cd/m2.
