What you need: Windows 10 or 11, macOS or Linux
Tor Browser is based on Firefox so it often incorporates features from Mozilla’s browser. In this new version, these include vertical tabs, which move your tab bar from the top of the browser to the left-hand side. This makes them easier to access and shows more of each tab’s title. To enable the feature, click the three-line menu button and choose Settings then General. Scroll down to Browser Layout and select ‘Vertical tabs’ (see screenshot). Vertical tabs are just as private as horizontal ones, and their data is deleted as soon as you close the browser. Additionally, as in Firefox, you can now switch between search engines more easily using a dropdown menu in the address bar. Tor says it won’t be adding Firefox’s new AI features because they could compromise your privacy.
