A man lost consciousness after being punched in a ‘totally random attack’ in the centre of Oban, the town’s sheriff court heard last week.
In the early hours of October 7 last year, Stuart Patron of 68 Centre Street, Kelty, swung a single punch at a man standing talking in a group outside a take-away on George Street.
‘Paton walked past this group and without any warning or any reason swung a punch which knocked the man out instantly; he hit his head on the corner of the building before hitting the ground,’ said Eoin McGinty, procurator fiscal.
