A Fassifern woman was found guilty of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner, deemed to be racially aggravated, when she appeared at Fort William Sheriff Court last Thursday January 31. Johanna Alvarez Landesa, 43, was found guilty of swearing and speaking in an aggressive manner towards Maria Alvarez, 53, from Fort William on December 8, 2017.
Landesa was found guilty of the offence but Sheriff Eilidh MacDonald deferred sentencing for a period of three months in which Landesa is to be of good behaviour. The court heard that Landesa made a phone call to Ms Alvarez on December 8, 2017, at around 6pm when she was at her home in Mull Court, Fort William, with her son and brother.
