Oban’s Premier Inn is on track to open at the end of this month but it is weather dependent.
Richard Aldread, head of new construction (UK and Ireland regions) at Premier Inn, said: ‘We’re progressing well with construction of the new four-storey, 80-bedroom Premier Inn and Thyme restaurant on Shore Street in Oban. Whitbread, Premier Inn’s parent company, is making a multi-million pound investment in the new hotel and restaurant, which is important to us as we are currently under-represented in the Highlands and islands.’ Mr Aldread said staff recruitment was well under way and the majority of roles had now been filled.
However, it is still recruiting for a head chef and anyone interested should go to Whitbread careers website. ‘All being well and weather dependent, we’re looking forward to opening our doors to guests at the end of February and becoming part of the local and business community in Oban,’ added Mr Aldread.
