The 2019 Betjeman Poetry Prize is open for entries by young poets aged 10 to 13.
This year’s competition is for poems on the theme of ‘place’. The winner will receive £500 and the English department at their school will get £5,000. Two runners up will each get £200 and the top three poets each get four Eurostar tickets to Paris, Brussels or Lille. Commended poets get £50, and the top fifty poems will be published in an anthology. This year’s judges are Wendy Cope and Lachlan McKinnon.
