Pro tip Tripod care
Look after your support
After a beach shoot, it pays to give the camera a wipe-down with a soft, damp cloth and clean the lenses. If you’ve been using the tripod and its legs are wet and covered in sand, dismantle the leg locks and rinse all the components in fresh water if you want the tripod to continue working smoothly. Not every tripod will come apart easily, such as those with lever leg locks, or you might not want to bother. At the very least, rinse the affected parts under a running tap and leave the legs set up to dry.
