A focal length of around 50mm (full-frame) is considered to be around what the human eye can see, so photos taken at 50mm tend to have a natural look to them. Most macro lenses have a focal length higher than 50mm, commonly around 90 or 105mm for a short telephoto, or a more powerful 200mm for a full telephoto macro lens, which extends the working distance and narrows the field of view even further.
