With the passing of a loved one inside the first ten minutes, discovered heartbreakingly via numerous missed calls, Afterlove EP could easily become mawkish. It would be understandable too, since Pikselnesia experienced a loss firsthand with the untimely passing of the game’s original director, Mohammad Fahmi Hasni. Yet this narrative adventure never settles on tear-jerking sentimentality.
