Imperfect 10?
This month we find ourselves returning to an age-old question: what is a 10? Is it a case of ‘We know it when we see it’, or something with a little more rationale? Well, it certainly doesn’t mean ‘perfect’ – a term that simply does not compute when discussing cultural works. Nor should it apply only to games that have the finest production values – it’s what you do with it that counts. And as for ‘revolutionary’, that feels a dated conceit for games these days, as even original ideas evolve from the thousands that have gone before.
