To make way for the 91 in the Museum of Scottish Railways, North British-built Class 84 electric loco No. 84001 has been returned to the NRM York. It is seen arriving by road at Holgate Sidings, York, on January 25. It was then moved on the last leg of its long journey to the NRM by rail, passing through York station hauled by West Coast Railways Class 47 No. 47245 VE Day 75th Anniversary. No. 84001 (E3036) is now on display in the NRM’s North Shed.

CLASS 91 ac electric loco No. 91131 (91031) has been loaned to the Museum of Scottish Railways for static display at Bo’ness. This is a fitting location for this celebrity loco, it having been a notable performer on the East Coast Main Line (ECML). It holds the UK rail-speed record of 154mph, achieved on a special passenger train on Stoke Bank on June 2, 1995.
