WORK on a £5 million project to improve accessibility at Port Glasgow station in Inverclyde was due to commence with preparatory work in February.
The project will see Network Rail, working with principal contractor STORY, install a new footbridge and lifts. Covered ramped access to the main station entrance at Princes Street will also be introduced to the station, all designed to make it easier for people with impaired mobility or those travelling with luggage to access the platforms.
