TAKING a supplement of beta-alanine, an amino acid found in meat, can enhance sprint interval performance, according to a study published in the journal Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise.
The substance is said to counteract rising acidity during exercise, working inside muscle cells rather than in the bloodstream.
