P umpkins and carriages are present and correct, but this Xmas-set Disney yarn is less a Cinderella riff than an Enchanted rehash, as our hero (trainee godmother Jillian Bell) warps from fantasy land to reality, where she bonds with a sad single parent (Isla Fisher) amid slapstick guffaws (“They’re turning greyhounds into buses?”) and Julie Andrews homages. Anodyne and unsurprising, it’s less than the sum of its proven comic talents (Bridget Jones’s Diary director Sharon Maguire, Jane Curtin, June Squibb), if not a Fowl-up like Disney’s last fairy tale.
