THE lights were out at Batley, but James Meadows was the bright spark the Bulldogs needed in a fast-moving fixture.
Only in the early afternoon was this Viaplay Sports-televised clash shifted from the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium, two miles east to Dewsbury.
Batley’s great rivals proved good neighbours as, with the floodlights at Mount Pleasant out of action, the Rams lent a hand, and their ground, so ensuring the game went ahead.
