ROUND-UP
YES, the clash between PARRAMATTA EELS and PENRITH PANTHERS was as good as it sounds.
The 2022 Grand Finalists put on a show in Sydney, but it was the battle of Nathan Cleary and Mitchell Moses that took the limelight.
Moses landed the killer field-goal, just after Cleary had landed a double-pointer from 40 metres to send the fixture into golden point.
There was little to choose between the two teams for 81 minutes, with Bryce Cartwright getting the first points of the game from a Dylan Brown grubber.
Moses converted and then added a penalty to make it 8-0 before Dylan Edwards latched on to a great Isaah Yeo break on 33 minutes. Cleary converted and he too added a penalty on half-time to make it 8-8.
Parramatta again hit the lead just before the hour, with Brendan Hands diving over for a debut try and Moses converting before the Eels halfback added another penalty to send the hosts 16-8 up.
Again, the Panthers responded with Zac Hosking grabbing his first Penrith try on 71 minutes with Cleary converting.
With time running out, the Penrith playmaker slotted over a two-point fieldgoal, but it was Moses the hero just a minute into extra-time with his own onepointer.
CAMERON MUNSTER proved to be the man for MELBOURNE STORM against WESTS TIGERS as the returning hero helped the Storm to their first home win since Round 21 last year.
