NRL contract talks break down
By STEPHEN IBBETSON
TALKS over a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) in the NRL have broken down, resulting in a player boycott of the media over the weekend.
The CBA sets out the salary cap and players' working conditions, and the previous one expired at the end of the 2022 season with the terms rolled over this year.
The NRL and the players' union, the Rugby League Players' Association (RLPA), have been unable to agree a fresh deal, with each rejecting proposals by the other.
