Red Hat and a few other distributions have stopped shipping the muchbeloved Screen utility. It’s effectively a software console that you can run in the background. Tmux is not as easy as Screen, but moving forward, it’s is the new standard on certain distros. Tmux, short for terminal multiplexer, is a powerful command-line tool that facilitates multiple sessions within one terminal window.
