A new iPad on a robot arm? Graham Barlow thinks he’s seen this before…
Back in 2002 Apple released what remains, to me at least, the most iconic and classiest Mac of all time – the iMac G4. It featured a flatscreen liquid-crystal display connected via an adjustable arm to a base containing the processor, hard drive and DVD drive (remember those?). The screen could be swivelled and angled to the exact position you preferred, a bit like a table lamp. In fact, the whole design was reminiscent of a table lamp, making it look both retro and futuristic at the same time.
