FUZZORAMA Truckfighters alumni set off on a new, fuzz-bound route
It was a bummer when Truckfighters announced a “long, long hiatus” in 2018. But now guitarist Niklas Källgren and sporadic drummer Oskar Johannsson are back as Enigma Experience, completed by Maurice Adams, whose uncanny vocal likeness to Chris Cornell once graced Motorfinger. Althoughladen with the distinctive tone of Källgren’s fuzzy six strings, they’ve taken the tempo down on Question Mark. Realityline is trippy and brooding, Mighty Mind is a twinkling (mostly) instrumental and The Z is like a 5am acid party jam. The closest thing to Truckfighters is the jaunty Lonewolf. Even so, swapping raw energy for soporific and dark explorations of fuzz has given this quizzical mob a new sense of purpose. ■■■■■■■■■■
