NERVOSA
Perpetual Chaos
NAPALM Brazilian thrashers replenish the ranks and re-arm the tanks
Despite enjoying a successful decade of destruction, Brazilian death-spiced thrashers Nervosa nearly imploded last year when most of the band quit “for personal reasons”. Proving that iron does indeed sharpen iron, guitarist and commander-in-chief Prika Amaral has picked herself up, recruited three new members and created Nervosa’s most exhilarating album to date. Boasting appearances from Flotsam And Jetsam frontman Eric A.K. Knutson and Destruction’s Schmier, you’d be forgiven for thinking this latest incarnation had played together for years rather than months on monstrous opener Venomous and the soaring Blood Eagle. Rebel Soul flirts with hard rock in the vein of Motörhead and it suggests the reborn band are only just getting started. ■■■■■■■■■■
