COFFIN FEEDER
Big Trouble LISTENABLE
Aborted frontman opens up a new line in brutality
After spending three decades bellowing, most people would be too knackered to start another project. Not so Aborted’s Sven de Caluwé: an unstoppable force who will not rest until the entire world has been giving a vicious kicking. It will come as no surprise that Big Trouble is the kind of muscular and violent metal record that repeatedly threatens to eviscerate everyone present with a souped-up Stanley knife, and that Coffin Feeder are firmly in de Caluwé’s wheelhouse. Equidistant between thuggish death metal and monstrous deathcore, hostile skirmishes like Porkchop Express and the slyly symphonic A Good To Day To Die are relentless, punishing and stupidly exciting. Coffin Feeder may yet satisfy their frontman’s lust for brutality. But probably not. ■■■■■■■■■■
