France’s fast-rising metalcore stars prove their breadth and depth
Landmvrks’ new album is explosive. Their raw, emotionally charged metalcore is full of technical riffs, crushing breakdowns, atmospheric textures, and vocals that shift seamlessly between intense, guttural screams and soaring choruses, thanks to Florent Salfati’s urgent intensity and hypnotic vulnerability. His rhythmic cadence, frenetic energy and distinct spoken word passages flow and supercharge every track. The songwriting is diverse in style and pace, but creates a neat whole that encompasses the band’s mix of French and English lyrics, which prove yet more powerful here. There is barely a flawed track to be found, but the emotional depth and fierce aggression of Creature and ALineInThe Dust, featuring While She Sleeps’ Mat Welsh, is exceptional.
