Our full-size railways are constantly evolving, providing fresh inspiration for modelling projects. BEN JONES looks at a few of the latest developments that could soon be appearing on our layouts.
Britain’s newest luxury landcruise train – the ‘Britannic Explorer’ – broke cover in June when it moved from Scotland to Eastleigh Works for completion. The train is formed of ex-Irish Rail Mk 3 coaches previously used for Belmond’s short-lived ‘Hibernian’ operation in Ireland. The train will operate over regular itineraries in England and Wales, reaching the Cambrian Coast, Cornwall and the Lake District.
